CINP International Course in Psychopharmacology · 7 Jan – 18 Feb 2027

Film options for the course

Gregers, here are the drafts so far, so you can pick a direction. Everything is built from real molecular structures and data, in phone format. Tell us which ones you like, and we'll finish them to the brief.

The five course films, up to 60 seconds

The main candidates. The brief asks for three (scientific understanding, international expertise and clinical application), so pick the three that work best for you, or tell us what to change.

Molecular interactionsEscitalopramOne serotonin release, then the same release with escitalopram bound in the serotonin transporter.
Synaptic communicationOne gapA flight through the synaptic cleft: each drug docks on its real receptor and is labelled as it binds.
Receptor pharmacologyA dimmer, not an off switchDopamine, haloperidol and a partial agonist at the D2 receptor: how much each one turns cAMP down.
Clinical practiceSame pill. Different person.Pharmacogenetics in a minute: CYP2D6, and what genotype-guided prescribing changed in a 12-gene panel trial.
Brain circuitsThe brain's chemical mapEvery particle cloud is a real PET map: a medicine reaches the whole brain, but acts only where its target is.

Bonus: two experimental films

Different styles, and stories from the history of psychopharmacology. Tell us if this direction appeals.

Bonus, experimentalThe accidental antidepressantHow a tuberculosis drug became one of the first antidepressants: a 1950s ward in paper craft, iproniazid blocking MAO, and the original 1952 data re-plotted.
Bonus, experimentalTwo plants, one receptorTobacco and laburnum, drawn from 19th-century botanical plates, act on the same nicotinic receptor: the road to varenicline.

Speaker intro and outro

One editable master with a placeholder for each speaker's recording, and an example intro built into the course look. A question for you: does an integrated intro like this work, or would you prefer something custom for each speaker? The name and title in the example come from cinp.org, so please check them.

Intro + speaker + outroThe editable master: a 10 s CINP intro cuts into the speaker recording (placeholder here), then a 10 s closing call to register.
Speaker intro: an integrated exampleFor "The Functioning of the Brain and Synapse" (7 Jan), over the synapse scene from the films.

Ten-second formats

We're honestly not sure about these short formats yet, so your feedback here would help a lot. Would you use any of them (for social media, or as openers), and which look feels right for CINP?

Vintage educational filmThe D2 scene graded as an old 16 mm teaching film.
ConfocalA real mouse dopamine neuron revealed slice by slice, in fluorescence-microscopy style.
Receptor fingerprintsSix antipsychotics as crowns of their measured receptor affinities.
BlueprintThe GABA-A receptor's real surface as a technical drawing.
Before the final versions, we'll check: the course dates, "seven live online sessions" and the registration link on every closing card; CME shown as planned, not awarded; and on-screen text, so each film works without sound.
